The MSP430 ultra-low-power (ULP) FRAM platform combines uniquely embedded FRAM and a holistic ultra-low-power system architecture, allowing innovators to increase performance at lowered energy budgets. FRAM technology combines the speed, flexibility, and endurance of SRAM with the stability and reliability of flash at much lower power.
The MSP430 ULP FRAM portfolio consists of a diverse set of devices featuring FRAM, the ULP 16-bit MSP430 CPU, and intelligent peripherals targeted for various applications. The ULP architecture showcases seven low-power modes, optimized to achieve extended battery life in energy-challenged applications.

TIDA-00373智能照明参考设计

This system conserves power and extends the life of the backlight elements by dynamically adjusting abacklight’s brightness in reference to the ambient light in the surrounding environment. Backlightbrightness adjustments also allow a more comfortable viewing experience for the user. More powersavings and backlight life can be achieved through a sleep or standby mode. The proximity wake upfeature can sense a human is close and wakes up the system.

The optical light sensor made by Texas Instruments has good human eye spectral matching, which allowsthe system to adjust the backlight brightness to be most comfortable when viewed by the human eye. Asimple algorithm determines the ideal backlight brightness when the backlight is activated.

Proximity wake up is enabled by Texas Instruments’ capacitive-to-digital converter. A capacitive sensorlocated around the edge of the board provides a 360-degree sensing field around the board. Proximitydetection works best when approaching the front of the device.

This design guide covers component selection, measurement theory, system calibration, andenvironmental compensation.

This system conserves power and extends backlight life by dynamically adjusting the backlight brightness relative to the environment’s ambient light.  A capacitive proximity sensor wakes up the system when a user is close to save even more power.
This reference design uses the HDC1000. This reference design can also be used with the HDC1008.
